I tried talking to him before and all I got back was “I just didn’t notice” but nothing changed besides him telling me that I mean a lot to him every once in a blue moon

I tried, but it got me nowhere. I pointed out the pattern to him and he said the response I mentioned, I asked him why that’s when he chooses to say it and he says “That’s just when it feels right”, so I ask if there was a reason why that time in particular felt right and he said that he didn’t know. It felt like talking to a wall but there isn’t any good time to talk about this since he took up a new job that has him working late and not on the clock when I’m either busy with class or sleeping
