ok this might be tmi but my dr’s making me get a sigmoidoscopy and im scared, has anyone gotten one before?? all the videos ive seen on tiktok are making me even more scared🫠🫠

I’m 20 and I’ve had 2. I always get the anesthesia bc I don’t want to be awake to feel it. I didn’t have much trouble waking up, and it’s much shorter than a full colonoscopy, which I’ve also had. It honestly was not bad at all. I would stay off of tiktok tbh and would tell you to read about it on certified medical websites if you’re still really nervous.

I asked for it. Most people are sedated, but I know people that do it with minor sedation. I told them I wasn’t doing it without being completely under
