i totally understand being nervous for the procedure but i promise they will not even think for one second about how you look, it's literally just a job to them

u can do it. they have seen dozens of vaginas including vaginas that are infected and oozing smelly, green discharge (that was me when i had BV) so don’t feel embarrassed it’s their job they signed up to do. you can ask them to use the smallest speculum. it’s very very quick and tell them ur nervous so they comfort u

in my experience the actual procedure is not that painful! for reference, i have diagnosed hypertonic PFD (chronic pelvic pain and painful sex) and it was 2/10 pain when using a pediatric speculum. if it’s available try to request that be used!
