I’m 18f and want new hobbies/ activities to do.ideally cheap/ free. Indoor or outdoors is fine. I’m into walks and biking but the weather is sometimes too much (I live in the Midwest) is there anything you guys recommend? Anything will be appreciated 🌸

See if you can find a rock climbing gym nearby! if you start feeling confident enough, you can climb both in and outside

I love to hike, especially to places with swimming areas. (I live in the south tho) but painting (even just on rocks and wood pieces is fun) and depending where you live you can make ur own paint from the ground!

Writing is always a cheap one! I think learning new languages or how to make things from scratch or like origami, sudoku, word finds, etc. are all fun and cheap if not free.

I love swing dancing :) it depends on location but in the Midwest you can usually find some swing or contra dancing, and it’s a great way to meet people and exercise

Reading? I myself like to sit outside in spring and read while laying down on the grassy fields near my house 🤷‍♂️. (I do have to remember to take my allergy meds when I do that though lol)

if you want a more creative hobby, you should look into crocheting! if you want an outdoorsy hobby, birding and learning the birds in your area can be super interesting! if you want a more classic hobby, you should start reading and trying different book genres to find what you like! a few other options are cooking/baking, editing, photography, drawing, woodburning, and thrifting (thrifting is seriously amazing for wanting to save money and still finding cute fits, it’s underrated!)

Hiking is the cheapest option, then camping and stuff or fishing

Martial Arts or kickboxing can be very fun and useful skill. I used to go to UFC gym and I had a blast!

i was gonna say crochet/reading but some people already beat me to it, so i’ll chime in with drawing! fancy art supplies definitely aren’t cheap, but a sketchbook (or even just a regular notebook) and some pencils can go a long way!

I would advocate AGAINST karate because it’s more of a dance and not very useful in the real world

That’s objectively true! Jujitsu was built for smaller fighters to beat larger opponents
