Remember people have donated over a million dollars to her. She murdered her children. It was 100% premeditated to not some spur of the moment case of insanity. She PLANED to kill hers kids. If she was actually crazy would she have sent her husband away to do it? No because if she was crazy she would’ve just done it not knowing right from wrong no need to send away her husband.
Genuinely it’s baffling me too. Usually the internet is (rightfully) so mad at people who do anything bad to kids and then this lady brutally murders her three young children and everyone is like “free her she’s an icon for women with PPD” like hello? Clearly mental health was a factor and it’s such a sad case but y’all are really defending a family annihilator
Her supporters make the case that her hormones made her do it and she was out of control so she should be innocent. Isn’t an argument against female leadership and voting the idea that women are not in control because of hormones? So if she’s found innocent because she cannot control herself because of her hormones does that give validity to the previous argument? A second order effect of her supporters is setting women’s rights back 150 years
I’m not super familiar with the case so I can’t say whether or not this happened to her specifically, but I do want to say that psychosis can cause you to be unable to tell right from wrong or reality from delusion, and it is not unheard of for people going through a severe psychotic episode to kill because they genuinely were not capable of being in control of their actions.
I completely get how postpartum may be involved in the whole case and that’s its own dilemma of whether that plays a part in the need for criminalization considering a large majority of people who commit drastic crimes are mentally unstable by a big extent especially with the whole rape stemming from hormones argument
But the big part that hits me the hardest is why are her supporters wanting to kill their kids too? Is it a mass hysteria thing are they seeing the extent of mob mentality to pull off intrusive thoughts I just don’t understand it. If its about postpartum like most are arguing for then why are they consciously doing it like that won’t ruin her case
I think we should wait to see what the experts assigned to this specific case have to say. They know more than you, or me, or anyone you’re getting information from online, and it is only them who can judge whether or not this was a psychotic episode or premeditated, whether it was a result of postpartum psychosis or another disorder, whether or not she is in a healthy state of mind to be released, etc
