Me and my bf were watching a show where my friend was the actress and the camera was showing her body and the male protagonist was talking nice about her. My bf asked “how does it feel to watch your friend in a sexual way/manner”. Should I be offended?

It was a genuine question I think just to talk about what youre watching? The scene wasnt inherently sexual but it sounds like the implication is that your friends character was getting checked out I would just think its small talk of like "how weird is it that you know her lol"

Should’ve said “ok, stop.” And had a talk about it and what he meant.

Does that mean my bf was watching her in a sexual manner? Lol. Will admit the camera was focusing on her body for a while

Bro if ur watching a show and she’s having sex or doing something sexual he’s not looking at ur friend he’s looking at the actress 😭 he brought it up cuz for him it’s just some rando but for you it’s ur homie. I’d say if u bring it up again ur allowing insecurity to show. However, there’s nothing wrong with wanting reassurance. If u can be an adult about it as well as if he can then u guys can hash it out cuz ur feelings do deserve to be heard if it’s troubling you. I think ur dragging it tho

You got to ask him because he could be bad at communicating what he means

I did ask him, and he said it’s like how parents would have to watch their kid in a sexual scene? And like how the scene was making it look from the eyes of the protagonist? I didn’t ask him directly if he was looking at her sexually tho

So don’t bring it up to him again? Unless he does

No I’d just keep it in mind when he says it again. Get a sense what he’s thinking and if it represents the kind of person you want to be with

It’s not a sex scene or doing something sexual tho. It was a scene where the camera pans to her body for a few seconds while the male protagonist is saying nice things about her

okay i think he was just commenting on how the camera was focusing on her body. like that’s literally the male gaze at work, maybe he felt strange abt seeing it happen to someone he knows and wanted to ask ur thoughts?
