Good makeup brands for a sort-of-beginner? I played around w makeup in HS and I wear it for rlly special events (weddings, my HS graduation), but I want to improve. I dont have any more makeup products rn so what brands should I get?

I feel like the brand actually rarely matters. Getting good brushes and knowing your skin-type is key. Always hydrate before you apply anything.

i think elf is actually a really good affordable brand for beginners. Also cushion foundations in my experience tend to be easier to use than regular foundation

elf is decent for drugstore level stuff! i used an elf eyeshadow palette for genuinely five years before i replaced it bc i broke two of the shadows and it was definitely expired. i grew up a ballet dancer and still perform often in college so i got to practice doing makeup for that pretty early on, and it was enough for me! i also like the nyx liquid eyeliners in different colors! they might take some more practice tho

HUGEEEEE on the hydration. usually i don’t do much for makeup, but the step i NEVER miss is my super dewy moisturizer (that i lowkey use as a primer)

Their products always have such smooth application and long-lasting wear; I definitely recommend them when you know exactly what you want, since they can get pretty pricey.
