I’m not single anymore so I can’t speak for a current “lack of dating success” but I think the problem I had when I was on the apps was that dating profiles don’t give you a super comprehensive view of a person. You get the bare level prompts and some pics and then once you actually start talking, you realize there are points where you’re incompatible or people ghost. Idrk if I can attribute any specific blame to that

9/10 when it doesn’t work out w a man I’m seeing its because of politics, or family matters. In that fact, it’s not something that I’m able to help. Had that been listed on the profile/been mentioned in the first times speaking, then that would have never been a problem.
