talking shit = the purpose is being mean venting = the purpose is getting it off your chest definitely a gray area there regardless

I feel like venting is relevant to an actual thing that’s happening but talking shit is just when you want to say rude things about someone just to say them

taking shit=person doesn’t affect you and situations are blown out of proportion venting=person does affect you the situations are only blown out of proportion because of stress/frustration, not to make the person look bad

If they’re not friends anymore and not interacting with each other but still say rude things about each other for no reason that’s just talking shit
