Anyone else get a little annoyed by being referred to as a girlie? Ik the intention is community and friendliness and I genuinely do appreciate that, I just don’t love girlie. Can’t figure out if it’s bc I’m a full woman or a gender thing lowkey

It’s hard to feel like a girlie when I wasn’t girl enough to fit in with other girls and feminine culture growing up, hearing that makes me uncomfortable

No it kind of annoys me too. This might not be everyone’s experience but it can often come with a backhanded compliment

I relate to this sooooooo much and I’m also a lesbian and felt so rejected by feminine culture and women in school even tho I look feminine most of the time but act another way…. It’s traumatic being a woman and girl in this sexist world
