Classics! The Secret Garden, The Little Princess, Pride and Prejudice, (actually just all of Jane Austin’s works) probably Percy Jackson for kids, Shannon hale books are really popular with young girls, the hunger games series

It’s a psychological thriller with lots of dark themes. centers around a murder case, family problems, self harm

Shannon Hale is a fantastic writer. She has a lot of different series but the ones you might be most familiar with are: Princess Academy, Princess in Black, Ever After High, The goose girl series

I can also say that something about princess academy had me obsessed when I was in elementary school. I still have it for nostalgia bc I would reread that book more than any other
