Do I sound like a pick me if I’m a man and I think most men are gross and women are better?

Yes because you are pitting men and women against each other. Some women are gross and some men are gross. That isn’t determined by gender

No, it’s a fair observation backed by data. It is NOT biological. Men are perfectly capable of being full human beings. But our current social structure has a tendency to hinder them in the realm of empathy and hygiene, creating a disproportionate amount of violent ogres.

For one thing, women have better hygiene, take better care of their appearances, and are nicer. They also have better politics and are more emotionally intelligent

Also care more abt education, which ai appreciate as a grad student, TA, and future (🤞) professor. I like ppl who care abt learning and the humanities…which are increasingly women

You’re speaking rather definitively about a very broad group of people. Women don’t always do all those things. Almost 50% of the entire population is women, none of them are a monolith for what women act like

I am also a teacher. I have seen some of the best kids be from every group. The label of gender doesn’t define how a person is, it mainly dictates how they are treated in society. Putting women on this pedestal also isn’t helping

Some boys are sweet and very conscientious. That’s how I was growing up. They are not the norm tho in my experience, unfortunately.

I’m not anti-man to be clear, my friends are mostly men 😭. They aren’t gross. We aren’t a monolith obviously.

That is just your experience. I have met many men and women who are great people, and others who are not. As a teacher you shouldn't treat these boys as if they will grow up to be horrible people as then they are more likely to become a self fulfilling prophecy. Every person deserves respect no matter their gender. Male teachers are so important for young boys to have role models in their lives so please don't discriminate against them

I agree. Some men are fantastic students and ppl, and those are the men/boys I appreciate. I recognize a good student when I see one, male or female.

Then I would ask that you don’t label women as “better”. No gender is better

Its great that you like women but thats a personal preference thing. Unfortunately a lot of what you perceive to be innate female traits is just dated sexism (this is not saying youre sexist! But the idea that women are this “more delicate” species is from that). A lot of these traits are just learned behaviors (and yeah when people dont pay attention to etiquette, you notice both sexes are pretty much the same in terms of casual life behaviors lol)

Data: (1) 4-16% of college men admit in anonymous surveys that they are rapists, as long as you provide the definition of rape without using the word. (2) A study found that most men (over half) engaged in multiple forms of coercive/manipulative behaviors to get sex from women who had said no. (3) The vast majority of pedophiles, serial killers, murderers, and other violent criminals are men. (4) Men do less emotional and domestic labor than women, even when both partners work the same hours.

Again, not biological. This shitty behavior is a direct result of the shitty society we live in.

The hygiene part, I’ve only heard anecdotally. Would be interesting to read studies comparing male and female hygiene habits.

By source, I obviously mean to drop a link to whatever article or journal (if you do go that far) so other people and me can see for ourselves how credible your info is. Especially with the rise of AI created sites. Like cool stats, but, that can...

easily be made up, especially since I'm not gonna jsut search the web looking for a random site that happens to match those words. Because that could just lead to an Ai created site that has some real facts mixed in with "hallucinations"

So again, I'm asking... Like damn, the least you could do is take a picture of the site, "extract text" has come a long way..

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4484276/ - This one has rape rates 6-15%. I could try to find the literature review or meta analysis that looked at multiple studies and found 4-16%, but this is what I could find within 30 seconds.

(3) has multiple parts, but here’s the sex offender part comparing male and female offenders. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/305384459_The_Proportion_of_Sexual_Offenders_Who_Are_Female_Is_Higher_Than_Thought_A_Meta-Analysis - Findings: 12% of sex offenders are women, while only 2% of reported sex offenders are women. There is reporting bias, but it is still a highly male-dominated behavior.

All of that Googling took me 7 minutes btw. Lots of open access research is just out there on the internet. No paywall.
