Only if you put yourself out there. I’ve never been sexually harassed because I wear clothes that cover my body and I don’t go to sketchy places like frat parties or crowded bars. It’s really easy to avoid if you’re not a dumbass

Majority of women said they were sexually harassed when they were 4-13 years old. Those are children. What bars and parties are they going to?

they were probably walking around in shorts that are inappropriate for their age due to bad parenting

I was catcalled at 11 while wearing my school uniform skirt that went down to my knees

First, why the hell would it matter it’s a grown man who was well aware I was a child. But secondly I was in CVS grabbing snacks with 7 of my friends before we went over for a sleepover and movie at one of their houses. Her mom was waiting in the car

It is. How have I successfully avoided it with my lifestyle of wearing appropriate clothing and avoiding sketchy situations? clearly there is something y’all are doing wrong.

that’s because that is exaggerated religious clothing that is supposed to be “pure” and therefore it is seen as a display of power to remove it. Normal appropriate clothing like a regular t shirt and jeans does not carry the same weight and is more safe.

Like I said. No adult with you.

This is called survivor bias. You are sitting here and telling other women “im better than you, I’m smarter than you, and i do everything right” because you just so happened to be lucky. Do you know how many young children were assaulted by adults? Family members? Teachers? Church officials? People they should have been able to TRUST and people they shouldn’t have to have to have their guard up with? You are seriously deluded and need to evaluate why you think this way about sexual assault

So a literal child is “asking for it” by wearing shorts?

If they’re not wearing appropriate length shorts and are with an adult then they aren’t doing anything to prevent it ya

A child who has no concept of modesty is asking for it?! What the fuck is wrong with you dude

Idk what is wrong with the parents allowing their children to dress sleazily and go out alone

Have you never seen the SA exhibit with nightgowns, school uniforms, children’s (ONE PIECE) swimsuits? Like idk what else to say to you to get it through your hard fucking head that what a CHILD is wearing should NEVER matter and should NEVER justify or excuse an ADULT from taking advantage of them. The FBI needs to check your harddrive fr

Obviously there are cases where you didn’t do anything but the vast majority such as “cat calling” which isn’t even SA like y’all act like it is is completely preventable

Catcalling isn’t SA but it is sexual harassment which is NOT completely preventable btw

Like I said. Luck. I have never been catcalled either. However I have been sexually harassed in other ways. For example, by my 27 year old manager when I was 17 working at McDonald’s. Wearing my UNIFORM. I was at work. Dressed modestly. Doing my job. Away from substances. AND IT STILL HAPPENED. it will happen no MATTER what safeguards you take. Quit being intentionally ignorant and open your fucking eyes
