Well, if it’s painful then you’re probably not adapting the workouts to yourself. You need to watch videos or even reach out to people around you to help with your form, and test out what works for you. For motivation, you really need to understand what your goals are and how committed you are to those goals
Honestly I felt like the hardest thing for me was being consistent in going. Like once I was there I was fine, but the hard part was carving out that time. So what I started doing was taking a 30 minute walk every day. Then an hour walk after a few weeks. And then I started going to the gym for that hour after a few more weeks. This is the only time I’ve been able to actually keep myself in the gym going after so many failed attempts. So start small! You got this, you just need to form the habit
Something that helped me was realizing you don’t have to go to the gym to work out. Find an activity you like, Pilates, yoga, dancing, kick boxing, etc. all of these are a workout, even walking for 30 minutes outside. If you don’t have the money to join a class or don’t want to you can find yoga/pilates/dance class, etc vids online for free
If you’re doing weightlifting, you should always be sore and tired after a workout, but the first few weeks are especially painful and tiring. It’s more about having something that motivates you. For me, I want to be able to walk when I’m nearing 70+ and if I stay consistent with a healthy lifestyle, it will help that. If you don’t have internal motivation to go to the gym, you’re not gonna be able to stick with it.
