Should absolutely not be a thing, religion is not universal and shouldn’t be required in academia outside of maybe a theological analysis scope

Absolutely horrific. If schools were forced to have the Torah in the classroom and be taught, people would throw riots. Why is it different because it’s Christian

I have no problem with the Bible but I do have a problem with going against the constitution. It’s one thing if they’re exploring all or several of the main religions that we might come across as Americans, but it’s another to be reaching ONLY the Bible in school. Separation of church and state. The state owns the schools so should only be taught in private schools

it violates not only the constitution but also established texas law under the religious freedom restoration act. hopefully the courts will side with those opposing it but i’m sure they’ll use some bs excuse like “well it has an opt out clause” to prolong the lawsuits

Anyone who got a decent language arts education had to interact with some of the Bible as it’s frequently used in other media

As a teacher I don’t know where they would try and fit that into the curriculum. Also how young? I would rather my kindergartners not learn about disembowelment, incest, rape, cheating, prostitution, and many other things. They need to learn where their state is on a map first

It’s the same as when schools as lgbtqia+ representative literature to reading lists, or black literature, or Jewish literature, it’s all agendas. This one just happens to be a religion 🤷‍♀️

Ya the Bible isnt being taught. Maybe certain passages/stories are being read but they aren’t preaching any religion in public schools. I would think it’s interesting to hear any ancient story from any religion

except one is telling the stories of groups that have often been left out of our history and the other is government mandated teachings of a religion that not everyone subscribes to, which objectively goes against what our country stands for
