It’s a worthy goal but she also needs to work on her own personal insecurity. You can’t save someone who doesn’t want to be saved.

Most people don’t like any compliments because even if they are good they still feel insecure. Obviously use your best judgment but you could find other ways to compliment her that aren’t so personal. For example if she wears something unique she probably wants people to notice or she does something nice etc. etc. Compliments don’t have to be about what a person is.
