I kinda want to create a sisterhood of women who want village style parenting, men optional. No pressure to make things work with a partner because our relationship is built on trust and safety, not sex. We can all date whoever we want, but a man’s involvement in the community must be voted upon before he can be allowed in. The need for examples to follow is something I take seriously. I know what it’s like to grow up with an inadequate knowledge of all the many female role models in many different areas of expertise. I asked a male professor how he balances work and children, and he said “I have a wife”. Clearly he’s not my role model in that regard. I think a solid backup plan is providing imaginary role models. Fictional stories, but also made up religions. I’m tinkering with a God+Goddess religion to that end.

It would not be anything like Christianity. There would be full understanding that I made it up and full transparency as to why. No threats, no shaming, nothing at all like the religious trauma I see from so many ppl who grow up Evangelical Christian or Mormon. Exploring religion has helped me deconstruct patriarchy, Christianity, racism, and imperialism. It is a useful tool when used intentionally.

My goal is to raise men who grow to be full humans. Our current society crushes the humanity out of so many men. It is a pyramid where a few ultra wealthy men pay other men to bribe politicians and spread propaganda to boys, who then internalize the propaganda and over time lose the qualities that make them amazing people. Qualities such as imagination and empathy. Men are already treated like they don’t matter. Men are already used as cannon fodder. I want to fix that.
