I still struggle with my self image but It has gotten a lottt better. I just do small things that make me feel pretty (putting on perfume, doing skincare, dressing a certain way- stuff like that šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø) and I start to believe I actually do look pretty. It has nothing to do with your physical appearance and everything to do with your internal view of yourself. Just try to be kind to yourself, if you wouldn’t talk abt your friend like that why would you say it about yourself? šŸ’•šŸ’•šŸ’•

Lean into the things that make you unique. I used to hate my ā€œgirl-stacheā€, face shape, body type…but then I started trying different clothing and makeup styles, dressing more alternative or more masc. Now, I’m so confident in how I look. I went through a few akward stages to get here lol, but it was SO worth it. Don’t force yourself to conform to society’s standards if they’re not making you happy. You’ll feel more beautiful being yourself

It’s objectively stupid reasoning, but I’m confident bc I a) am into women, and therefore don’t really care about a lot of beauty ideals. For example, I can’t wrap my head around being ashamed of my hip dips, bc I find them beautiful on other people. Also I draw, so I’m used to finding beauty in many places. Through this lense, I am also breathtaking. I can’t not be. Everyone has some lovely feature I’d like to paint. I dislike painting the ā€˜celebrities because their faces often lack personality

This is so hard and I’m still working on it. But one thing that does help is if I have a moment where I look in the mirror and actually think I look better than usual I take a few minutes to look at myself and think ā€œwow I’m so prettyā€

what helped me (after years of severe insecurity) was quitting my shitty self talk (our brains internalize everything we say as true, even jokes, if repeated regularly/enough. quit dwelling) as well as getting off the internet & pursuing skills/hobbies/intellegence (something to love about myself that is not related to my looks. strong foundation of self) taking care of how i eat/exercise helped a lot, and building a style (which i’ve been doing for 6 years) really helps as well.

My confidence is so weird. I know parts about me are pretty, but there’s some things I hate sm about myself. I like myself in the mirror sometimes. I absolutely hate taking photos with others or by myself. I use to be okay with sending photos of my face without wearing makeup, but now I can’t do it anymore. I was able to stop wearing makeup during the day for the first 3yrs of college while in a toxic relationship, but I lost confidence to leave my place without makeup after I cut him off

idk how old you are but in the last 6 years since i decided i wanted to be confident my body has changed very little (i have gained and lost weight with circumstance & developed adult acne i can’t fix) but focusing on feeling good and being my weird self has made me 1000 times more confident. i went from your place to finding myself hot in my weird little outfits. i wore booty shorts this weekend as someone who wore pants all summer until two years ago because i couldn’t stand my legs.

i hated it at first but i kept wearing them and by the end of the night i felt good in them. so idk. it takes time. look up neuroplasticity. it is real and i have experienced it. it is slow and painful and requires discomfort. i recommend aiming for body neutrality with a recognition that there will be days you still hate how you look (and with time, days that you really love it)

the next time you’re saying/thinking something negative about yourself, say something comedically egotistical ex: ā€œobviously this doesn’t fit me, they don’t make shirts for perfect bodies at h&mā€ or something sarcastic like that. to you & everyone else it’s a joke but your brain is like ā€œlowkey am i perfect?ā€ that paired with feeling better & being well rounded will make you feel better about yourself. i believe in you :)
