This guy and I were exclusively talking for 3ish months and while I was on vacation he started going on dates with his ex and so I had gotten him a gift while I was gone and I left that at his door with a note sprayed in my perfume, is this petty?

They’ve been on and off since 2023, they’ve never even official dated he just runs to her every time he’s lonely cause he knows she’ll always come back but then when she’s gone all he does is complain about her (we we’re friends before we started anything more)

Him doing this sounds like cheating given the context and that’s his fault not yours!! But I will say that the least effort/commitment you will accept is the most you’re going to get - if a guy won’t commit even to saying he’s dating you, he’s not likely to act committed, unfortunately
