Straight men who wanna be rewarded for protecting women from dangerous men in hypotheticals are just LARPers. IRL other women and gay men are usually the ACTUAL ones protecting strangers from straight men while other straight men just watch it happen.

Nobody who actually protects people wants to do it, they hope they don’t have to. The people who do want to “protect” just want a socially acceptable way to be violent.

Sometimes girls like it tho like my ex liked it when I got aggressive against creepy dudes that tried to hit on her even tho I’m not rlly a very aggressive person. Might be the more traditional minded girls tho

Wow I hadn’t considered that perspective but you’re right. No one who’s actually going to help a person in need WANTS to be thrown into a situation where they have to. They aren’t doing it for fun or praise but out of empathy. The people who loudly claim they’re gonna do it or that because some other person did it at some point and therefore you should be extra nice to THEM are probably the ones who wouldn’t.

This was about guys who wouldn’t/don’t defend women while wanting to take credit from the guys that actually do. So you did the right thing. The guys who would just watch are the issue.

The biggest “protecters” I know well have violent thoughts. I think you’re right. I have these thoughts too when I walk at night, in part because I want an excuse to harm rapists at minimal legal cost. Can’t legally hurt someone unless they’re a threat.
