Whenever I get on an elevator or am forced to be in an enclosed space with a woman, I turn the gayness dial up to 11 just to make her feel at ease. I don’t know if this actually works. Do you feel more comfortable around a gay man?

Im wary around everyone especially men. It would put me a little at ease but i will never relax around a stranger

Definitely can be more at ease when I know I’m in an enclosed space with a gay man instead of straight

Personally I feel so much better. I also know most of my friends feel the same way, but be careful bc some girls are toxic especially towards gays. Be safe kings and queens 🙏

i love when i get in elevators & men just ask how’s my day is going and then when the elevator opens he just goes about his business. like it not flirtatious or anything!

I’m honestly usually totally oblivious instead of nervous (privileges of being a tomboy, absolutely understand why most women feel that anxiety) but if you turn the gayness up and are friendly in the elevator you *will* walk out with a new friend (it’s me)

Much. I’ve been harassed by countless straight men, but never a gay man. It feels a lot less threatening when I’m stuck in an enclosed space with a gay-appearing man than a straight-appearing man

I do the same. I’m straight, but I turn up the gayness to make women feel less uncomfortable.

It would relax me but I’m also a lesbian so I’d relax cause you’re part of the gang

Yes 100% even if we’re not comfortable being alone with men in general, it’s 10x less threatening

That’s so sweet ☺️. I don’t like elevators in general regardless of people in it plus it is usually a short trip in the elevators. By the way, what do you do to make it known you’re gay? Do you like jump up and down with Jazz hands? 😂

I love gay men i genuinely feel so safe around them because I don’t have the eerie feeling that they’re looking at me in a weird way so thank you

Usually something completely unnecessary depending on what’s available. I’ll ask what floor she’s going to in a sassy way or compliment her shoes or nails. Or comment on the weather that day. Anything that allows me to be flamboyant very briefly.

I often compliment something she’s wearing and tell her “my boyfriend’s sister” has the same thing.

In the office building I work in, I’m frequently in a situation where a woman I don’t know is alone with me in the elevator and generally that’s always an awkward position no matter who it is despite its briefness. Plus I look like Tom Selleck back when he was younger. Eyebrows and all. I feel like it lightens things a little.

Aw, OP. You sound like the sweetest person - I’m sure you being the kind of person that thinks of this at all shines through in all your interactions. 😭🫶
