You could let him know you aren’t interested in a non direct way. Maybe mention another person you’re into or something similar. However, no guy that isn’t into you should have a bad reaction to you making sure he knows you are just friends.

That’s kind of a tough one, because it could come off as presumptuous if you straight up told him “I wouldn’t date you” if he never asked.

maybe he isn’t interested, maybe he is interested and is waiting for the right moment, or maybe he is interested but has already decided that he doesn’t want to ask. It is his decision to make a move or not, though - you don’t have to try to read his mind

that’s what i was considering. i was gonna tell him about this guy that im interested in, but i think the situation is handling itself. since a few hours ago hes been acting real distant and he’s been like avoiding me in a way which im not totally mad about. i hope hes losing feelings and that this is confirmation of that, because i dont know how i could even plot a scenario where i could tell him that i dont want to be with him
