Two different scenarios and you know that. Chance of a woman to be sexually assaulted is 50% (estimated higher but can’t prove). Chance of being falsely accused is 2%. Emmett Till was a tragedy, but you know damn well that’s not what’s being talked about.

Emmett till was Black. The lady who accused him was white. The crowd that brutally lynched him were all racist white people. This is as much a race issue as it is a false accusation issue. It’s terrible. Maybe this kid shouldn’t have whistled at some lady, but that wasn’t why he was killed. He was killed because white racist people knew they could get away with it.

A black person had a higher chance of being falsely accused of a crime and being lynched for breaking certain “rules” at the peak than most women ever have of being raped in America

The probability of being raped is about 25% for women in the US right now. There were hundreds of lynchings and each one was terrible, but less than 25% of Black people were lynched during the segregation era. During the slavery era though, a LOT of Black women were raped by white guys (who then enslaved their own children, talk about child abuse), many many Black people were tortured, most Black people were enslaved, and every Black person faced racism.

And we are all sadly still stuck with leftover sexist and racist ideas

A lot of black men were also raped by white guys, forced to rape other men including their own children with the threat of death. Also if you think use the word hundreds to refer to lynchings you are not qualified to speak on this topic as you are uneducated on basic facts

And that chance is still lower than 50% of the entire population. This person is using whataboutism to justify misogyny

Rape isn’t the only way to be sexually assaulted. I never said rape

But still, it’s less than 25% of the entire population because one and every four women are raped. So I don’t get your point still

My point is however high you believe this threat of violence on women is today. The threat was way higher for a man like him back then

I mean, the threat of being brutally murdered is worse than the threat of being raped. During the peak of lynchings, roughly 0.03% of Black Americans were lynched. That rough estimate comes from roughly 2,000 lynching deaths over a 20 year peak in the 1890s, when the population was about 7.5 million. Today 25% of women are raped. Which is worse? Idk pick your poison. Both are horrible.

I think both instances of widespread violence against a demographic of people can be considered terrorism in many cases.

I don’t think this person is trying to justify misogyny. White racist women using a racist environment to get Black men killed is a serious issue. While it’s not as common anymore, there are people alive today who have lost family members to this senseless violence.
