Is this a good way to help end gendered violence?
Hot take: we should standardize a way of educating sons to not be violent to women. And if the parents fail, they could lose custody.

Who’s going to design the curriculum? Is it going to have bipartisan support? Who’s going to implement the state or federal agency that deals with it? Who’s going to test whether the education is succeeding? Who’s going to take children from their homes? It’s challenging enough to run regular public education and child protective services… we don’t need something impossible to implement and possibly against people’s civil liberties

it’s a bit extreme/ not realistic. i do think schools need better education on interpersonal relationships and managing emotions in a healthy way tho, and not just for boys. women perpetrate intimate partner violence at high rates as well, although typically less frequent and severe

This is a very idealistic idea, in reality that would be very hard to practice successfully

modern parents don’t even play all that big of a part in educating their own kids (unless they are homeschooled) its mostly the school system environment

i think gender based violence is really a sociological issue that isn’t as easily fixed like this. changes need to occur on a much broader level and it starts with dismantling the patriarchy
