From my understanding mija is used as a form of endearment so yeah probably flirty. I doubt he’s calling you his daughter lol

Alright I'm Latina and you need to give more context because mija is one of those terms that can be used in different tones/to mean different things or that can be used not literally. It's like how in English sometimes people refer to their friends as "this bitch" or "this mother fucker;" they don't mean it literally nor in an insulting way and it’s more just a figure of speech. It's also how some people use terms of endearment for either people they've never seen before in which cases it's more

he’s only 3 years older than me, i should give context. we work together and he constantly is going out of his way to do certain things im doing and goes out of his way to talk to me and i feel as though some of what he says is flirty. my coworkers have also pointed out that they think he likes me based on how he acts/talks with me

Out of custom than actually meaning the term. Then it can also be used sarcastically kind of like how a woman arguing with someone may call them sweetie during the argument but it’s entirely sarcastic. Mija is one of those words that can be used sarcastically or without it meaning it’s actual meaning or very colloquially despite it being a term of endearment.
