Religious beliefs, traditional beliefs, and how someone was raised impacts their views on it. Similarly to how we have had a spike in homosexuality because people think similarly to those they are in contact with. Not excusing bigotry but according to academia and my own research that’s why people dislike queer people

Because it threatens their belief system. If they see ppl interacting outside of their narrow gender/sex paradigm, it means that they cant use misogyny to oppress women as well. Same reason why ppl are transphobic
