Sometimes I feel naive or dumb, but I conveniently forget that sex is a primary driver for men, and to a lesser degree women, at least in the initial stages of a relationship. One of the values of a relationship is the intimacy of knowing a person and being known yourself. That shouldn’t be shared on a whim with anyone, and intimacy doesn’t just mean physical, in fact quite the contrary. Rather, the breadth of intimacy includes emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and goes on.
