really? i find men funnier than women on avg, don’t crucify me

Most women aren’t open enough around men to be as funny as they actually are and men also don’t get a lot of the experiences or situations women will joke about. When we see male comedians make a joke we don’t relate to we go “oh ig that one wasn’t for me” but when men see a woman do it they assume she isn’t funny because they are used to being the default. Some men also get weird when women make “vulgar” jokes because their ideas of propriety within patriarchy are challenged.

Makes me think about stand up comedy as kind of a gauge. The ratio of genuinely funny women compared to men is pretty low imo.
