Kind of? I make a pointed effort to wish everyone happy birthday and I’ve had “friends” who just ignored my birthday and ended up talking shit behind my back and being bad people. So

i used to when i was younger/ in high school, now i don't really care as its about me but that doesn't mean i need the validation to feel like its special

Yeah I get that! For me, it’s not necessarily that I need validation nor that I need it to feel special nor that I even need to feel special, it’s just I always remember everyone’s birthday and make it a big deal. So it hurts a little when I don’t get the same in return
