Had to call Tampax today, after I bled through 4 ultra tampons after an hour each. (Not a flow problem, the tampon wasn’t even full and was leaking) and a man answered. Having to explain to a grown man that I have a heavy flow and him going “sry to hear!”

This is like a man going to a mechanic shop and complaining that a woman is servicing his vehicle.

the only thing you can do is buy a different kind they probably don’t give a shit if some of their products are defective lol There’s a certain percentage of products in all production lines that are defective and there’s 0 way to stop it.

This should never happen. You did the right thing in calling customer support bc your tampons are broken. I hope they give you your money back bc having leaks when they’re not even full is disgraceful

Genuine question: was the problem that a man answered the line or was there more him just saying sry to hear, like did he actually say anything bad to you?

There’s supposed to be inspection for that stuff too but even a certain percentage of the inspections misses bc human error

Also Tampax as a company probably has VERY little to do with how they’re actually made. That’s up the chain somewhere. The factory they’re assembled is responsible and it’s likely only the managers of tampax even know where or who that is that makes them.

So my period is extremely heavy, so I typically use ultra tampons. And I have never had an issue until now. I told him that I wanted to talk to a female, and he told me that he is the only representative available to talk to me. He made me feel disgusting for even mentioning my period to him.

yeah but what I’m saying is that the company itself has NOTHING to do with the defective product. And your period being heavy isn’t anyone’s problem but you and maybe your doctor.

The line that I called was customer service, and I wanted to report the fact that every tampon that I have used from this box, has leaked. And I got a more expensive box of “leakproof tampons.” so for $15, for a pack of 10 tampons, they have all been defective.

They probably don’t even see what’s inside the boxes. The factory does. Tampax is just the brand on the label. They pay other people to source supply assemble and ship the product. Only the managers of the company would even know anything about that process so talking to a female representative wouldn’t have done anything better for you.

I’ve already spoken to my doctor, and it has never been a fucking problem. The problem is the product. The company manufactures and sells these products, so it is the company’s fault.

I think you’re just pmsing and being sexist tbh? Like grow up that man probably knows about periods too he works at a tampon company. What else is he gonna say besides “oh sorry for you” that’s a super awkward detail to include “my periods are sooo heavy”, I’m a woman and I’d be kinda weirded out by that too. All you had to say is that you had a defective product if you INSISTED on calling them, which is useless anyway, you didn’t need to go into detail about a gross bodily function.

Having a heavy flow is completely irrelevant to their customer service.. the only relevant info is that you received a defective product. maybe take a nap????

It is the company’s fault but not the representative on the phone. It’s the factory and the managers in communication with the factory’s fault.

When I am being bashed over the phone for having a period, that’s where the issue lies.

I put in an ultra before I went to bed on Tuesday night. (Which I know it’s not recommended to wear a tampon at night, but I bleed through pads and overnighters. And I get really bad rashes from them) and I woke up at 5 o’clock the next morning, only five hours after I had the tampon in. And I had blood through two pairs of underwear, my shorts, the towel that I had underneath of me, the sheets, and it somehow went through my mattress protector. So now there’s a huge stain on my mattress.

hey man idk wtf your problem is but having a very heavy flow is incredibly relevant to reporting defective TAMPONS especially since the ones she bought were supposed to be the heaviest flow LEAKPROOF that she’d never had a problem with before. why wouldn’t she give background on a problem? why should she dance around her lived experience for his comfort at a TAMPON COMPANY no less. also she said her issue was that he kept saying “oh ew” and refused to transfer her to another person
