Ugh what would you do if you were texting someone for almost two months talking and everything and then it’s a day before you go back to your city (in which you planned to hangout) and now he’s being super dry and the vibe just feels completely off like-

Not sure if this helps, but talk to him, seems like he might not be understanding himself but he could just be afraid of the reality of it. Like an old relationship ended badly and he doesn’t want that again, so definitely talk it through if you want something serious!
