Just a reminder to my fellow trans brothers who may have just gotten top surgery this year. PLEASE REMEMBER!! Your chest is not used to the sun, put some sunscreen on! Even my brothers who got melanin, trust me you’re still gonna want it! 1/

The skin on your chest needs time to adjust to the sun, you can still be shirtless but you will burn! Take care of your skin, and be patient. Eventually you won’t look like a lobster 💀 (I say this as a hispanic trans guy who had top surgery back in 2019, i still get a lil burnt if im out too long but it tans now instead)

Wait fr? I mean that makes total sense tho, i just didnt know if there was an actual time frame Yknow i wonder if getting tans at a salon or something would help the skin get better sun exposure? 🤔

It’s not for skin, but for scar care. Scar tissue is more susceptible to damage than regular skin cells

Oh! Yeah that makes sense! Tbh i wish i had taken better care of my scars. My dr gave me this stuff but it didnt really do much. I probably could have came up witha better regimen🤷🏼‍♂️ idk what i can really do for them now

silicone gel or sheets can be used even on old scars. it’s a bit pricey for the amount you get, but it rly works
