I don’t know the full dynamic of your relationship with your mom, but it seems like she’s pretty demanding for it to feel like you don’t have an option. If she’s willing to hear you out, just let her know that you’re grad school isn’t out of the picture, but that you just need a breather rn. I hope everything works out for you🫂

We actually have a good relationship, I just don’t think she fully understands my brain (but neither does any other neurotypical so). I just mostly don’t know how to communicate everything

You could say something like, “Mom, I know you are only looking out for me, and I thank you for caring, but I don’t think grad school is what’s best for me for this particular moment. I’m burnt out and I need a break before starting something new again”
