yes like every autistic person must be like young sheldon and if they aren’t then you must be lying 😭 like that’s not an inherently nonsensical belief and probably part of the reason why some people believe autism just “popped up more” instead of how diagnoses increased truly in response to widening the definition to be more inclusive to reflect the spectrum

True! I hate when people think that ALL autistic people struggle with social communication or lack social skills or whatever example we want to use so if you’re outgoing and social then you can’t be autistic. I feel like people don’t understand it’s a spectrum and no two autistic people are the same and can struggle with different things on the spectrum

OMFG YES!!!!!!! i just got diagnosed this year (im 22) and my family says “i just don’t see it”. like i’m SO sorry i don’t behave like my 8 year old brother who was diagnosed when he was 3???
