Even worse, I was supposed to go pick up my cat, as well. I feel like I’m being so dramatic yet am super anxious/lost

If you’re worried you’ll be in waiting mode the whole time try to do something special virtually so you’re waiting for that instead of waiting for going home. Then you can maybe get yourself in functioning mindset because something happened and now it’s over for now.
