Genuinely it really comes down to the mascara applicator. The two that Ive found work really well are covergirl clump crusher (green tube) and ilia lash lengthening clean mascara

As I blink into the wand, I move it side to side which seems to help prevent too many lashes sticking together

I use a eyelash curler, A spoolie to separate the lashes Apply Tarte Opening Act Eyelash Primer (enough so that ur lashes top and esp bottom look big) Clinique High Impact Volumizing Mascara And go over it w a spoolie one more time once it’s dry If u try this plz tell me! It’s been my go to for years.

I find that blinking into the wand very gently and pull upwards to use a combing effect. Start at the base then move upward. If you find that still puts too much product try wiping away some on the cap of the tube. I really like the L’Oréal lash sensational! And I use the thinner/smaller comb side of the wand. Hope this helps :)

I use a thinner “telescope” mascara first to get the lash separation and lift and then a thicker one to get the thickness
