They need a different saying. Bullying is serious and it totally minimizes and invalids people who were actually bullied. It’s just another way of saying “kids nowadays are too soft” or they are frustrated with current social dynamics. And it’s usually said to provoke a reaction or to get attention.

to be fair i was really weird and cringe and being severely bullied make me act like a normal human being so sometimes it’s needed for development. but also sometimes it was directed at things i can’t change (sexuality) so i think its contextual.

well i mean like even that is not a good reason unless you’re bullied out of being a genuine piece of shit human , then i dont think anyone should be bullied into changing themselves but maybe thats just me 🙃
