Just got my diagnosis and the neuropsych said I scored higher than average on levels of masking for women with low support need autism. My advice: be yourselves people. Who gives a fuck? People who deserve you will find you. Love your differences.

How? Masking has been so ingrained in my life I don’t even know who I am. I’ve been masking so long that even if I wanted to just drop it, I can’t. It’s happening against my will

I’m in the same place. High masking for so long, that I don’t even know what exactly the unmasked me even looks like. I honestly think it’s a long process, and we need to be gentle with ourselves. Start with noticing what you’re like when you are completely alone. As well as not hiding certain traits, like stimming. Saying no, find and put your needs first, not forcing expressions/tone, speak up about things you care about, don’t accept others’ judgements, and research autistic traits

“For women with low support need autism” as in like, not saying anybody needs autism, but as in a classification of autism, like people with autism that requires low support from others.
