It's all weird to an extent imo. I can understand being a fan of some things but when it's obsessive or consumes most of your life or money or it becomes para social or you have to start sacrificing for it, that's way too much. Even fandom loyalty causing drama and or hive mind is too much. We're not meant to live life like that. Regardless of gender or the spectrum
i saw this awhile back and now i openly call myself a fangirl bc more ppl need to realize this and i shouldn’t be ashamed of it. i’ll go to cons and meet my favorite actors (teen wolf, tvdu, twd, etc), stand in line for hours for concerts (and meet the artist if i can), and i even have a twitter page dedicated to fandoms (started with obx). im done being ashamed for it when my parents literally met because of the crazy love they had for hockey
I think even obsessive fans are fine as long as they’re not crossing any lines. Like if they’re not hurting anyone and if it brings them happiness then good for them. Not everyone has a regular source of joy/happiness in their life, and from the outside looking in I don’t understand why some people have this strong desire to remove that for people just because they think it’s weird.
