when you took the test how did you feel? autism is a spectrum, maybe you are just lower on the spectrum than others. or maybe you’ve developed and integrated a lot of masking behaviors like many other girls even myself because it’s expected of us while autism in boys is generally taken more seriously enough to be properly diagnosed and accommodated. if you related to most of the questions then i would say you probably have autism.

I feel the EXACT same way. Not diagnosed yet but getting tested this week and I relate to everything I read about my research in autism and women. If the test comes back negative, then what? I still have the same struggles and what if the negative result means I’ve been faking it? But I know I’m not faking struggling. I scored high on the autism quotient test and the camouflage/masking test

I felt the exact same for YEARS and finally got evaluated this summer, and turns out I was right. It’s autism. But it can definitely feel scary and make you feel like you’re “faking” because of all the stereotypes and if you’re lower level on the spectrum. But your experiences are valid. It may or may not be autism but it doesn’t hurt to try and learn about yourself. We’re all just trying to survive out here.🙃

And remember that even if you don’t have this specific disability, SO many things can contribute to how you function. Even lack of sleep can manifest as disability symptoms which highly impair your function. So you could 100% currently be experiencing symptoms of autism or adhd etc, which is totally valid and worth just as much support. And if you have it, that’s cool too :3
