i can never make phone calls for myself or point out a wrong order at a restaurant, but the second it’s for one of my friends… suddenly i can make their doctors appointments or order for them. i still don’t understand the psychology behind it

Me too! Body doubling administrative tasks has been a lifesaver for some reason having a buddy doing the same thing near me alleviates the fear

My adhd partner and his family of adhd are all the same way. Oddly somehow most things I can, but if I’m overstimulated I just go complete non verbal

i do the same thing! i won’t even be able to open my lips i feel like… no one in my family or close circle has autism so it feels like strange trying to explain it

Yes! No one else in my family does it ethier. My partner family was first time I actually got to see someone go through it basically. It was eye opening experience.

i didn’t know there was a name for it! i feel like doing it for other people for a couple years has made it a bit easier to do it myself too
