When I tried to get diagnosed, the woman said I was ‘too smart’, ‘too social’, and ‘made eye contact’ so she ‘didn’t even know why I was there’. Am I valid for still thinking I might be on the spectrum?

Definitely valid! It’s a SPECTRUM!!! That means not everyone’s symptoms look the same! I’m sorry you had to deal with her!

Absolutely! You are likely high functioning and/or were masking and presented as neurotypical to her. Autistic traits aren’t one size fits all🤗

The woman told me I was “too high functioning to be disabled” so I couldn’t have autism but I did have anxiety, depression, OCD tendencies, ADHD tendencies, and sensory differences. You can definitely be autistic without a diagnosis

Mine said that I am high masking as my eye contact is good and that to most neurotypical people I would appear normal to them so you are absolutely valid likely just high masking

So is she saying autism makes you stupid? She shouldn’t be a doctor. Too social? You mean learned behavior and masking? Eye contact? Again LEARNED BEHAVIOR we don’t like it but it’s something we know we have to do to “connect” more
