Has anyone gotten their autism diagnosis as an adult, if so do you have any insight/advice?

I got mine a few years ago when I was 20 or 21. It really helped me with my mental health and it helped my family see that I’m not being difficult or inflexible on purpose, it’s a diagnosed condition. I understand my needs better and people know how to help me better. I saw an autism specialist, that’s what I recommend. Normal therapists or doctors might not be qualified or knowledgeable enough to accurately diagnose autism

Got mine 2 month ago, getting help and benefits, I have sleep apnea and regressed so bad. Learning so much about autism and it explains everything fr. Slowly but surely everything is working out.

Thank you! I’m from an immigrant family and anything related to mental health is kinda stigmatized. So, I just started to navigate this stuff on my own. I appreciate it!

Wait omg hi! I’m 24 and going to be tested in the next month or so and I relate to what you said but I’m wondering if you meant that you regressed so bad with sleep apnea or regressed in other ways related to autism or regressing related to being a functioning adult? Because I feel like I regress a lot too but idk in what ways
