i’ve certainly been told i’m “too formal” or the words I use are too big. once when I was 19 and working a corporate charity event , I even got made fun of by an adult man for saying “may I.” I could have been a bitch too bc he’s the asshole leaving a paint covered napkin on a nice fabric chair in vegas. babe you’re an adult why are you bullying a teenager for being “too polite” ???

Yeah, it was one of the reasons my ex didn't like the way I texted and basically told me to change it entirely to not make him upset - he even hated that I left him on read, (since other folks would do it to him as well) and he would take that as everyone not wanting to talk to him somehow, even though it really didn't seem like a big deal cause it's not my or anyone else's fault that ppl not talking to you all the damn time and know how to finish a conversation😭.
