how do you let go of things that you missed out on? I didn’t get to celebrate my 21st birthday and I’m still really upset about it

I was a class of 2020 hs grad so Im an expert at coping with situations like this. What i did is intentionally plan new events to help make up for what you missed. Pick out specifically what aspects of your 21st you feel like you missed out on and recreate it with people you love at a different time. For me, i missed prom! What i really wanted was a chance to wear a fancy long dress so i hosted a prom party with college friends where we all wore the dresses we would have worn in hs!

I missed most of the dances too. 2021 grad. but i just didn’t have anyone to go with, the only one I went to was freshmen year homecoming cus that was the only year I had friends to go with. people put ketchup on my stuff bc I’m afraid of it (it’s gross). I missed my 21st because nobody came and I hardly had anyone to invite. Same with the ones before and my 22nd that just passed. I still don’t have anyone to invite. The people I did didn’t bother showing up. I can’t recreate it without people.

I’ve never been able to find friends really. I have autism anxiety adhd mdd and ocd. lots of people just think I’m “weird” “annoying” and “rude”. the last friend I tried to make, I warned her sometimes I can come across as rude on accident bc of these things but I genuinely don’t mean it. she said she understood but she tried to steal my boyfriend by telling him I was cheating on him with his brother. it feels like people just take advantage of the fact that I see everyone as a potential friend
