A lot of homophobes claim that people often become gay because of an absent or insufficient parent. So it’s ironic that the homophobe’s dad wasn’t really there for him growing up. Even in a sense that’s not based on irony, it shows that the homophobe has a general hatred/ is a difk to a range of individuals that might stem from his father being gone.
