Yes but that’s an extremely common task. Why is your hand positioned, as a right handed person, in a way to get lead on it. You write with your wrist positioned upward?

I put my elbow near the corner of the desk and position my arm at an angle to the paper. Sometimes the line or two above my hand would get rubbed off a little, especially when I was handwriting essays for tests

I lean over when I write and it’s more comfortable to have my arm out to the side

I rest my hand on the page sorta horizontally to the word I’m currently writing, and my hand must slightly move up and smear the words on the line above
