It’s not bad to wash your hair everyday if your scalp and hair can handle it and NEED it. If you are concerned do every other day and the days you don’t wash, maybe put it up and not everytime but a little dry shampoo is fine every one in a while

If you are going to see a change it’s going to take a while for your scalp to “reset” how much oil it produces If all your skin tends to be oily I’d say it’s a lost cause and to just stick to your current routine we don’t all have the same skin or bodies if you want to try anything make sure you aren’t over stripping your, hair put hydration in - use dry shampoo - stick to the same wait time on hair washing for a while - use a boar bristle brush to evenly distribute the oils

Hey I have fine straight hair that can get oily too here’s what I do: always clean my brushes because they collect oil, protective styles like braids will help a lot with staying dry, lukewarm shower water not hot, really scrub your head with your nails when shampooing, and shampoo twice. Make sure your nails are scrubbed clean. If you rub your hands across your hair in the shower and it squeaks it’s clean. The type of shampoo also matters, you want volume rather than moisture. Blow drying helps
