cholas have dark femme style to their makeup. darker eyeshadow, dont really use blush, nude/brown/dark deep red lips with deep dark liner, moles to represent their rebelliousness, dark thinner brows, dramatic sharp eyeliner, no highlighter, and yes they can be colorful and more creative meanwhile “basic latina” makeup is not as dark, use lots more blush, more red tones, thinner or no eyeliner, lots of highlighter, and often not much eyeshadow or atleast not colorful eyeshadow

and chola makeup (as well as chicana which cholas are a subgenre of) has lots of history and meaning while “basic latina” makeup doesnt really have that its just fun to do!
