Being proud of your heritage isn't saying the current state the US is in isnt bad. I love my country I hate the MFS in office and the decision they make. As an African American woman who is very left, she shouldn't be held accountable to the bs mainly white people (men especially) put the country in. That's why the statement is ignorant.

did you, like, listen to the album? or anything about her reclamation of america? “history can’t be erased”? she is american, even if it’s bc of a dark and horrific history. she’s proud of the american she is, and the america she stands for. patriotism isn’t the same thing as nationalism.
